Crime Risk Score

In a PerilGrid report the crime figures are area statistics for the community around an address, not measurements at the address itself: reported offenses per 100,000 residents per year for seven offense types (murder, rape, robbery, assault, burglary, larceny, and motor vehicle theft), violent and property totals, the same figures for the state and the U.S. with ratios, and 0–100 scores that compare the local rates with the state average — 50 means the same as the state, and higher means more crime.

Property and casualty insurers use these figures to gauge theft, vandalism, and liability exposure. Because they describe an area rather than a single building, read them as context alongside property-specific factors.
