Crime Risk Score

A crime risk score rates the relative likelihood of crime at or near a property, helping underwriters assess theft, vandalism, and liability exposure.

Crime scores aggregate reported-crime data for the area around an address and express it as an index relative to a national or regional baseline. Property and casualty insurers use it to gauge theft and vandalism exposure, and it can inform pricing for both homeowners and commercial risks.

Scores are location-specific and can vary sharply block to block, so address-level resolution matters more than ZIP-code averages.
